One of those good things is Jack Coltrain. The epitome of a Broday hero, Jack is bold, valiant, and kindhearted yet prepared to act with violence if necessary to defend those he promised to protect and care for. The speed of their getting together through a marriage of convenience is totally understandable, even necessary, considering the fraught circumstances they found themselves in. Their happy-ever-after is inevitable and well-deserved.

One of the signatures of Ms. Broday’s stories is found family and that theme is central in this story through Fancy and Jack’s care for Piper, an orphan girl whose sad plight stroke a familiar chord within Fancy’s heart. This little girl is another character who made me cry with her exceptional pluck and maturity beyond her years.
Fast-paced and eventful, Fancy is a fantastic read for those who are looking for something quick but with depth, has sympathetic characters, is well-written, and sweetly romantic.

Maida, I always love coming to Carpe Diem Chronicles. For one thing it feels like home and another is that I feel like we’re old friends. I have found a home here and have decided we must be kindred souls. I’m very happy you liked Fancy, Jack, and Piper and could take them into your heart. They became so real to me. I love deep stories, even short ones, and I couldn’t help going over the word limit in order to give the reader a satisfying read. I wish this would’ve been a longer book so I could’ve slowed down and not rush some scenes. But I think it’s a nice wrap up for the Love Train series. Thank you again for seeing the “heart” of the book. I treasure your kind words.
